Here are just a few of the many much appreciated detailed written reviews from my readers on Amazon:
"The Long, Lost Exit Home is by far and away the craziest novel I’ve read in a very long time! When I say “crazy,” I mean that in the most positive way possible. What’s amazing about this story is how many different genres it pulls from but still comes together in a way that forms a creative, cohesive story that actually makes sense AND entertains. Laura---the book’s protagonist---seems normal and just flawed enough to make her seem real. This is probably crafty storytelling on the author’s part because the events surrounding Laura for the remainder of the novel are so utterly incredible that they should derail the book’s credibility, but don't!
Without giving away any spoilers, this book ultimately breaks down into two different stories. The narratives ultimately intersect and believe me, the reader will be in disbelief about how these two worlds collide. Serial killers, aliens, and even romance---this book has it all.
The only caveat is that the often terrifying scenes the author depicts can be really heavy handed on violence. Consequently, I do NOT recommend this book for incredibly young or sensitive readers. Nevertheless, this is a five star read for lovers of thrillers, sci-fi and horror. I am in awe of this author and will put him right up there with Stephen King and M. Night Shyamalan in terms of the ability to scare the pants off someone! If you enjoy a good scare, this one’s for you..." ---Brown Bettie

"I’ve been a fan of horror and sci-fi novels for years, which means that after reading so many of them, a lot of the plots start to seem the same…but not this one! Chris Roberts makes a lot of pop horror authors seem tame by comparison. For starters, there is a lot of graphic violence, including sexual violence, so this is more for seasoned readers than for 14-yr-olds looking for a scary story. I tend to like alien or extraterrestrial plotlines more than the supernatural thrillers with ghosts, so The Long, Lost Exit Home with its alien sea monsters was a perfect fit for me. The main character, Laura, is very likeable and it was easy to follow the story through her eyes. I was on the edge of my seat as she found herself in one cliffhanger situation after another. There were a lot of current event references and some political issues in the plotline, so it felt like a story that could really be happening right now. Between the serial killer, the political intrigue and the alien monsters, I never knew which characters were going to survive and which were going to meet a grisly death. Several heart-pounding scenes had me racing through pages just to find out! In the end, I was very satisfied with how the author tied up the plotline in a positive way, with the heroic characters finally able to keep evil at bay. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes a good scare!..." ---K.B.

“The entire story is terrifying and will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to turn the page to see what is going to happen next. There is forbidden love, killings and a terrifying future for those who survive. For anybody who is into horror movies or stories like ‘Alien vs Predator’ or ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, I would recommend this to you because it is quite graphic as such. There are many twists and turns throughout the entire book and you will be left wide eyed and shocked. The book was well put together and the author obviously has a knack for this genre of stories. The author is quite talented and has a way of making you SEE exactly what is going on in the story and being able to picture it in your head and not just putting words on a page. Well done…” ---Big McGaffer
